This video explains how to manipulate photos, add vectors, and create projects from scratch. You are able to change the background color that will be shown in the original "background layer". He explains that the crop tool can be used to adjust the size of the photoshop document if needed. You re able to edit with different brushing tools on the left, just simply click and drag to edit.
These tools will all be helpful when getting used to using photoshop for the first time. Knowing about free drawing is a helpful tool when needing to add something small or significant to the project. I think that this guy did a good job explaining all the different features in a slow, educational way and makes me excited to know that it is not as intimidating as I thought. Especially since I did not know you were able to adjust the project size after you had already started.

All versions of photoshop are able to follow this certain tutorial which is nice for people with an older version. The guy explains how he has incorporates layer folders to maintain organization and keep things in order. He explains and shows all of the tools needed to create an origami project that is easy for watchers to follow along.
I think that although the video is not to long and does not go into depth on specific skills, it outlines the following videos that explain how to create certain projects. Just taking a quick overview of the skills, the most intimidating is the layer folders. In illustrator I struggled to create layers even though overall, it would have made the work easier. I am also aware that photoshop layers create themselves when new things are added or embedded, however, turning them into folders seems very intimidating.

This video shows us the basics on how to use photoshop at a beginner level. When you open up, you will be greeted with the menu and all of your most recent works. You are able to change the size of the paper as well as the size of the pixels within the project. He goes into using layers and how to adjust them in case of mistakes or wanting to add new layers.
I think that all of these skills will be helpful when navigating through photoshop. Knowing that it is harder to go back and redo things on photoshop compared to illustrator, it is helpful knowing some of these tips. I think that since the layers are added on their own will make it much easier to see than it was in illustrator since you do not have to add them yourself.
