Poster

For this assignment we were asked to create a self portrait to later then be used to create a propaganda poster. Attached above is the finished propaganda poster, the message "Do it for yourself, not for them". The poster is actually representative of an anti-propaganda message to not focus so much on following the status quo and do your own thing. As well as doing things to work on yourself instead of doing things to impress others. I chose this message because I have worked hard in the past few years to better my mental and physical health in the gym specifically. Because of this, I have noticed lots of others in the gym or in public in general doing things so that they are noticed by others or so that they are seen in a different way in the eyes of other people. This poster is supposed to represent the opposite and how working on yourself should be for the purpose of making yourself feel better, not for the approval of other people. The poster focused on a more positive vibe to go along with the strong meaning of the words. The sunset-like colors give off a calming, more happy feeling; giving off the message of self empowerment and a feel-good message that accomplishment is supposed to give you. Below is the picture used for inspiration that was taken in a time that I was happy and enjoying myself, so that feeling would then be portrayed through the poster.
